Alan Foutz
Dr. Alan Foutz was born and raised on the eastern plains of Colorado in Akron. He graduated from Akron High School, received a B.S. and M.S. in agronomy from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. in agronomy and plant genetics from the University of Arizona. In 1982 Dr. Foutz returned to the family farm and leased 800 acres of wheat, no-till sunflowers and millet using continuous farming systems. He also farmed with his father, an additional 8,000 acres of irrigated corn, dryland wheat, dry-land corn, sunflowers and millet. He was selected as a Distinguished Alumnus of Sigma Xi at Colorado State University and was selected as the Distinguished Agricultural Alumni for the College of Agriculture Sciences at Colorado State University; in 2002 he was selected as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Crop and Soils Department at Colorado State University. He received the Colorado Farm Bureau Outstanding Agriculture Award and was also honored to be inducted into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame. Dr. Foutz was employed by US Congressman Cory Gardner as his District Representative for the 7 Northeastern Counties of the 4th Congressional District and then served as a District Representative for Senator Cory Gardner for 4 years before he retired. He is a Commissioned Lay Pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians and is serving The Cornerstone Community Church in Kimball, NE. He has been there for the last 22 years and was commissioned into the Kimball Church in 2004. He has served as solo, part-time pastor during his whole tenure there. Dr. Foutz has retired from all other activities and devotes his full-time to the Kimball church.
